I give a talk entitled "Silk, Science and Stitch" - a mixture of slide show and actual articles. The talk lasts approx 3/4 hour and gives an insight into how I started in textiles, my work and the techniques I use, my inspirations and my future direction.

| Experimental surfaces | A day to play and create samples using various mediums available to textile artists such as xpandaprint, foil, tyvek etc. Small additional charge for materials. Sewing machine optional. |  |
| Landscape Impressions | Using cottons, silks, velvets and sheers we will interpret a picture of your choice. Further embellishment can be added with beads and stitching. Sewing machine required. |  |
| Creative Canvaswork | Using a painted canvas, or canvas overlaid with sheer fabrics we will liberate canvas stitches and incorporate freestyle stitching and machine work if you want. Sewing machine optional. |  |

Want to colour your own fabric but don't want to get into dyeing with messy liquids? Learn how to use transfer paints to create colour, pattern and texture. Great for embroiderers and quilters. Small additional charge for materials |

Learn the technique of crazy patchwork - once a popular pastime of Victorian ladies who lunched! We will create a crazy patch and embellish with simple stitches and beads. Sewing machine optional but very useful. |

Learn the traditional techniques and stitches of crewelwork - work either traditionally or with a real twist. You could use space dyed fabrics and threads and modern designs. Contemporary and traditional patterns will be available to choose from. |
